Open Channels

Between my personal communication channels, and Spark communication, my morning routine now involves:
-checking my and the show’s work email
-checking my personal email
-moderating the show blog comments
-adding my own comments
-updating my and the show’s twitter feeds

And that doesn’t include the semi-regular actual blog entries for the show or this blog, or thesniffer blog.

The one thing the morning routine almost never includes is picking up voicemail messages. Almost no one calls me on the phone, at home or at work. I wonder how common that is?

Just wanted to say that your show rocks and it’s awesome to see CBC support you on this. I live, breath and ‘teach a bit’ of technology and find it great when I can follow fellow Canadian ‘techies’. You should try friendfeed..;)

Nice to hear that I’m not the only one alone on the phone front. I used to come home to bunch of messages and now it be days until anyone calls. Sometimes I wonder if it’s because I’m more isolated, but I think everything’s gone to email which then *might* be followed up with a phone call.

    Hey Cath,

You made the comment on Thesniffer the other day that people are starting to use these devices (cellphones) for everything OTHER than talking (texting, pictures etc). I’ve always hated talking on the phone but I wonder if it’s spreading?
